OK College (SAT) Salmon Arm

Description:

Come try out a brand new map in Salmon Arm!  The map connects many of the green-ways, schools, and trails of the South Broadview area of Salmon Arm. 

Three courses are offered so you can pick whichever one suits your ability and experience.  We strongly recommend that beginners sign up for the beginner course.  Please sign up on this page so we know to print a map for you.  

Schedule:

• 6:00 - Registration Opens and First Starts
• 6:30 - Last Start
• 7:30 - Courses Close, ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST REPORT TO THE FINISH BY THIS TIME.  This allows our organizer to clean up the controls before it becomes very dark out.  Thank you.

Meeting Location:

Meet at the southernmost parking lot for the SASCU Recreation Centre just north of Okanagan College.  See the map at the bottom of this page to get directions. 

Safety Considerations

• Traffic:  There are numerous roads throughout the area which have varying amounts of traffic.  Please respect other road users, and only cross the road when it is safe to do so.  Courses have been designed to minimize road crossing to safe junctions and crosswalks, however please use caution.
• Private Property:  Please stay off all private property and garden beds.  These are clearly shown on the map.  Our usage of Public Property depends on not having complaints from nearby landowners, and Educational Institutions.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED for:
- Helping out with registration (please arrive a few minutes early)

- Introducing newcomers to orienteering (how to use a compass, reading the map, etc.)

- Picking up controls after this event.
