Registration

Registration will close at midnight on Thursday, August 29.

Cost:

  • Adults: $10
  • Juniors (20 and under): $3

All participants must be a member of a Canadian orienteering club. If you join the Sage club as a Member to participate, there will be no charge for the event if you use the following discount code: Sage-Skimikin-First-Timer-2024. Enter this code into the Promotion / Coupon Code field in the Order Summary table on the right hand side of the final registration page where you enter your payment information.

Information

Format:

2 Hour Score-O at Skimikin Lake Recreation Area. You can do the event on foot or on a mountain bike. The objective is to get to as many control points as you can in 2 hours.

Parking / Start / Finish:

The parking and start/finish will be in the main day use parking area next to Skimikin road at the entrance to the east campsite.

Schedule:
  • 8:30 am: Sign-in will open at a table.
  • 9:15 am: Short introduction to score-O for those new to the event.
  • 9:40 am: Maps will be handed out 20 minutes before the start.
  • 10:00 am: Start.
  • 12:00 pm: Finish and course closure. All participants must return to the finish by this time.
Safety:
  • Those 12 and under must do the event with an adult.
  • It is recommended that beginners do the event with at least one other person.
  • Carrying a cell phone is recommended for safety reasons.
  • If you finish early, on-time, or late, you MUST check-in at the Start / Finish so that we know you are back safely.
