Overview

Welcome to our Kelowna fall training series! We have trainings on Tuesday evenings throughout September and early October. These low-key orienteering activities will happen starting at 6:00pm at a different location in the Kelowna area each week. There will be both beginner and advanced courses, so there is something for everyone and their family.

Terrain

We are back to Quail Ridge for the first time in a year and a half for our last forest training event of the year (but there is still urban stuff to come!). This skinny map has a super open forest and a couple of parallel trails, so expect fast running and simple navigation. It is a great chance to practice moving faster and orienteering at speed without getting too lost.

Meeting Location

The small parking lot at the end of Quail Crescent - see map pin at bottom of the page.

Parking is limited, so please carpool. If you don't fit in the parking lot, there is street parking, but please park respectfully for the neighbours - thanks!

Registration

Registration will open soon.

Even if you registered for the spring series, please also register for the fall series so we know how many people are coming.

Cost

  • No cost for Sage Orienteering Club members
  • $5 for visitors from other Canadian and international orienteering clubs

Sage orienteering club membership is required, which costs $10/adult for the year and cheaper prices for kids. Membership is required to fulfill our insurance obligations. We try and keep costs to a bare minimum while still paying for insurance and map printing. Everybody here is a volunteer doing our best.

If you are able to make a donation to help cover some map printing costs or for other equipment, it would also be much appreciated. We are incurring a few hundred bucks of permit costs for these fall events, so please send us an E-transfer or bring some cash if you appreciate these events so we can keep permitting urban areas close to town that have permit fees.

Kelowna

Orienteering events occurring in the Central Okanagan, typically around Kelowna and Vernon.
