Join us for two great days of racing above Kamloops on the edge of the grasslands and forest. A morning of training maps geared for juniors or interested adults to followed by a short middle on Saturday afternoon. Sunday will be the long event and potential for further early morning training.

Saturday, May 2 - Six Mile

Agenda

10-12 - training - option for beginner or experienced

10-12 - long middle flagged

1pm - short middle - beginner, intermediate, advanced category

Awards 2pm

Registration desk for the Middle at the Six Mile Arena will open at 9:30am

  • Location: 6 mile map
  • Start: First start 1 pm
  • Courses close at 3 pm

Map: The 6 mile map was first produced for the 1990 Canadian Championships and revised for the Western Canadian Championship in 2003. Bryan Chubb remapped the vegetation for this event in 2019.

Courses: beginner, intermediate, advanced, relay

There will be no assigned start times. There is no water on the map.

Maximum time allowed is 90 mins for all Middle courses.

ARENA

Water: Please bring lots of water but water will be available on courses.
Toilets: port-a-potties close to the arena

START

There will be a remote start for all courses. YOU MUST FOLLOW THE MARKED ROUTE TO THE START TRIANGLE.

FINISH

ALL COMPETITORS MUST REPORT TO THE FINISH

PARKING

Park along the edge of the road near the arena. Please do not park in the arena.

Electronic punching: the SI system will be used. SI cards are available at no additional charge.



Sunday, May 3 - Six Mile

Registration desk for the Long at the Six Mile Arena will open at 9am

  • Location: 6 Mile map
  • Early morning training: 9 am
  • Start: begin at 10 am
  • Course closes at 2pm

There will be no assigned start times.

Courses: beginner, intermediate, short advanced, long advanced

Maximum time allowed is 180 minutes for all Long courses.

START

There will be a remote start for all courses. YOU MUST FOLLOW THE MARKED ROUTE TO THE START TRIANGLE.

FINISH

ALL COMPETITORS MUST REPORT TO THE FINISH

PARKING

Park along the edge of the road near the arena. Please do not park in the arena.

Cost

Sage or Orienteering Canada Club Member Fee per day:

  • Individual adult/junior = $15/$10

Non-Member Event Fee:

  • Individual adult/junior = $20/$15

You must be a current (2026) member of Sage or another Canadian orienteering Club or sign up as a Non-Member.

Please purchase a membership with your local club (EOOC, KOC, Sage, for example) or FWOC prior to registering for this event. All current members are welcome! The Non-Member Event Fee is also intended for international orienteers and allows us to ensure you have signed the waiver (which is crucial for our insurance). You MUST register online; registration closes 1pm, April 26, 2026.
