Unfortunately, we are sad to announce that we are cancelling this year's Junior Orienteering Weekend. We will be providing a full refund to those who already registered, likely in the week of September 23.

We will be getting a head start on developing next year's junior orienteering programming activities with a schedule that works better for more participants. Stay tuned!

Overview

Orienteering BC is hosting the first of many planned junior orienteering weekends in the province with the support of SAGE.

This weekend is for young orienteers aged 9 to 16*.

The camp will be based out of Camp Elkcanoe outside of Salmon Arm and run from Friday evening through Sunday afternoon. 3 meals will be provided on Saturday, and breakfast and lunch will be provided on Sunday.

The focus of the weekend is providing a lot of fun with orienteering friends while also learning lots and becoming better orienteers and better athletes. Specific activities will be finalized once we have a better sense of who all is coming but you can expect the following:

• Several orienteering sessions
• Outdoor games and activities such as:
  • capture the flag, soccer, swimming
• Indoor orienteering activities such as:
  • presentations from Team Canada athletes
• Group meals

Registration is closed.

Fees:

• First junior: $120
• Any additional junior from the same family: $60

For the first junior participant from your family, the fee is $120 for the weekend. Each additional junior participant from the same family is $60. When registering each participant, please choose the appropriate registration category for each based on these guidelines.

Participants need to be a member of an orienteering club. If they are a member of a club that does not use 2Mev Interpodia for membership registration, please choose the Orienteering BC Junior Event membership type when asked during the registration process.
