Sage Stomp will be held back at Mcqueen Lake this year. We have secured the Environmental Center for cabin/bunk accomodations. We are hoping to have a new piece of the map for you to try. Long, Middle and Sprint Courses.
Friday: Potluck and Training Map
Saturday: Sprint 11am and Pursuit Middle 3pm
Sunday: Long 10 am
Registration: You MUST register on-line. We prefer that you pay on-line but you can send a copy of your on-line entry with a cheque in Canadian funds to: Sage Orienteering Club c/o Alan Vyse, 2646 Valleyview Drive, Kamloops, BC, V2C 4E5. Meet Waiver: all participants must sign the meet waiver before starting.
Fees: Early registration fee for the weekend is $130 for adults, $80 for juniors; a $10 surcharge will apply after May 8th, up to the 19th. The fee includes accommodation, 1 evening meal and the event fee.
You can enter the races separately: the fee is $25 for adults and $10 for juniors with a $5 late surcharge. Registration will be available on the day of the event for a further additional $5.
SI Sticks must be used; they are available at $5 at the meet site.
Accommodation and Food: Cabins with bunk beds are available at the McQueen Lake Centre and are available beginning on Friday night. Each cabin has 6-8 beds. Bring your own mattress and sleeping bag. We are limited to 70 people, so book early! Info on the Centre is available at http://www.mcqueenlake.com/. Very limited camping is also available on site at a cost of $15 per person per night. Undeveloped forest recreation camping sites are available close to the centre but they will be busy for the long weekend. Kamloops is 30 minutes from the map and has a wide variety of hotels and motels.The Centre has good cooking facilities with a large propane cooker and hot water. One evening meal (Saturday) are included in the camp cost. Please bring your own food for Friday night, breakfasts, lunches and snacks. The bathrooms are also very good. The highlight is a large and expensive composting toilet. There are showers but hot water is limited.
Food: Please bring own plate, cups and cutlery for meals.
Child care: Child care will not be available, but there will be small children in attendance. Informal child minding can be arranged + request will be taken for early starts.
Camp location:
Driving to Kamloops on Highway 1 and 5 from the south and west: follow signs to Jasper and the Yellowhead Highway (Hwy 5 North), crossing the South Thompson River. The third intersection is Halston Avenue and there are signs to the Airport. Turn west across the North Thompson River and filter off the highway heading north following the sign to Westsyde. Once on Westsyde Road, and heading North, take the outside lane, immediately, and keep North through the lights on Batchelor Drive. **Follow directions below.
Driving to Kamloops from the East on Hwy1: drive west through all the traffic lights to the start of the Freeway and follow the signs to Jasper and the Yellowhead Highway (Hwy 5 North). Cross the South Thompson River to the third intersection at Halston Avenue where there are signs
to the Airport. Turn west, crossing the North Thompson River and prepare to filter off the highway heading north following the sign to Westsyde. Once on Westsyde Road, heading North, take the outside lane, immediately, and keep North through the lights on Batchelor Drive.

Driving from central Kamloops: drive west from Downtown following the direction signs across the South Thompson River to North Kamloops and the Airport. At the junction with 8th Avenue, turn North following the road signs to Westsyde. After 1km there is a major junction - keep North
to Batchelor Drive.

Batchelor Drive becomes Lac Du Bois Road. The route will be marked with O signs from there. Follow the road to the major junction at 16km. McQueen Centre is 1km on the road to the east. The route will be marked with O signs from the Westsyde Road-Batchelor Road junction. Follow the
