Overview

Welcome to our Kelowna spring training series! These low-key orienteering activities happen Thursday evening at 6:00pm at a different location in the Kelowna area. There will be both beginner and advanced courses, so there is something for everyone and their family.

Terrain

We are returning to this new forest map for another round in this beautiful terrain.

It is just off of a dead end road sandwiched between private property and Mill Creek. There is a nice little trail system used predominantly by the local dirt biking community, but it doesn't get very much use by anyone. The beginner course will mostly stay on trails, but you will have an opportunity to cut through the forest if you want to. The advanced course has a training focus on contouring and using catching features. Wear aggressive footwear, and consider wearing full leg cover.

Meeting Location

In the cul-de-sac at the end of Sierra Drive. See map pin at the bottom of the page. Please be sure not to block either of the two driveways in the vicinity. If the cul-de-sac is full, turn around and park along the edge of the road on the way back down. There is a fair bit of space.

Registration

If you already registered for the Kelowna Spring Series once, you are good to show up without registering for subsequent weeks.

Cost

  • No cost for Sage Orienteering Club members
  • $5 for visitors from other Canadian and international orienteering clubs

Sage orienteering club membership is required, which costs $10/adult for the year and cheaper prices for kids. Membership is required to fulfill our insurance obligations. We try and keep costs to a bare minimum while still paying for insurance and map printing. Everybody here is a volunteer doing our best. If you are able to make a donation to help cover some map printing costs or for other equipment, it would also be much appreciated.
